Retrieving Web Content Header

Retrieval is the action of obtaining items from the Web or your local hard drive that will make up your WebCD. WebCD sees your Web site as a large file system. You specify items you wish to retrieve using the itemÆs Uniform Resource Locator (URL). Uniform Resource Locator (URL)
A unique identifier used to address Internet resources on the World Wide Web or files on your local hard drive or network. The three main parts of an URL are the protocol, used to reach the target server, the host system or server on which the document resides, and the path to the document.
URL Format: protocol://host/path
Example URL:
http://www.marketscape.com/News/News.htm

WebCD Packager retrieves all of the documents that fall in the hierarchical directory tree beneath that URL. This method provides precise control over what is retrieved, in contrast to systems that retrieve content based on the "depth" of HTML links.

Use the Start Retrieval function to begin retrieving the URLs specified for retrieval in the Retrieval View.
